As you probably know, if you are planning on living on the White Island, it is fundamental that you get registered in Ibiza (or the municipality you choose) as soon as you find a place to live. There are many benefits of being a resident in Ibiza aside from obtaining a travel certificate.

The travel certificate is one of the most important benefits of living in Ibiza, since it will allow you to travel to the peninsula for half the price, and to any of the Balearic Islands with a 75% discount. However, getting registered in Ibiza or in any of the Pityusic municipalities also includes some extra benefits, such as being able to vote, getting discounts on local sport events or even at some parties and discos.

We will tell you everything you need to know about the process of registration and obtaining the travel certificate in Ibiza:

1Which documents do I need to get registered in Ibiza?

– First of all, you will need to prove your identity, just like in any other legal process: DNI if you hold a Spaniard citizenship, ID card from your country if you belong to the European Union, passport or residence card if you are a citizen from another community.

– A document that confirms your residence in Ibiza (or the municipality where you live). If you own a property, you will only need to present a property registration letter with less than three months old or a current receipt from the IBI. If you live on a rented property, you should present a lease contract (original or copy) with your name and the cadastral reference of the property. You should also bring a paid receipt of the current month and a registration sheet which you can find at the Registry office or on their website.

– If your name is not on the lease contract, you will need to present a copy of the owner’s DNI and a copy of the DNI of the person whose name is on the contract. You will also need the original document and the copy of the contract and the registration sheet we have mentioned before. Lastly, you will also need to fill in two forms with the model M024. One of them filled and signed by the property owner and the other one by the person whose name is on the contract.

To register a minor in Ibiza with only one of the parents or a legal tutor: you will need the accreditation of the authorization letter for the minor (original and copy). If the parents have separated, divorced or the minor is under tutorship, you must present the sentence, resolution or regulatory agreement. In the rest of the cases, you should present an authorization signed by the father, mother or the legal tutor of the minor (Original M-132 filled out), the family book (libro de la familia), birth certificate of the minor and a copy of the ID card of the person signing the authorization.

– The maximum wait period for the resolution and notification of the registration in Ibiza is up to three months, however, it depends on the municipality council and the time of the year. This means that during low season you could obtain the registration within a few days.
