In March 2016, Madrid-born Ángel Ruiz and the Bulgarian Anatoli Goranoy, a chef who has lived in Spain for over 16 years, opened Sa Vida in the centre of Ibiza. A gastropub with a new concept in catering that was unheard of in Ibiza by then.

Appetizers that merge different gastronomies: the Mediterranean, Basque, Bulgarian, which are also combined with other international flavours and ingredients, as well as a wide selection of wines from everywhere in Spain. That is what Sa Vida has in store for us.

Sa Vida Ibiza

Ángel and Anatoli met over 12 years ago. Both of them have a wide experience in the gastronomy and catering sectors, although Ángel has experience in the wine sector as well. None of them could have imagined when they opened the doors of Sa Vida, that the restaurant would reach the number one spot on TripAdvisor’s list for the city of Ibiza. Their original and wide food and drinks menu, and the excellent attention offered by their entire team have been the main reasons for how well received this gastropub has been from the start. Residents and tourist alike forget about walking around the most emblematic streets of the island to discover one of the most authentic gastronomic offers in Ibiza. Alex Teodorescu, originally from Transylvania and resident in Ibiza for 14 years, is a lover and professional of the cocktail bar. He joined the project in 2017 to, along with Angel and Anatoly, continue to surprise all the customers of Sa Vida.

In their menu, you can find dishes such as salmon tartar or different versions of ceviche (such as Zatoichi, Machala or shiitake). We also love their delicious tempuras and their beet tartar. The menu gets even more interesting with their exquisite risottos and dishes for meat lovers, such as their beef sirloin, their duck magret, or their seafood dishes, such as the famous Thai squid or their charcoal-roasted codfish.

If there is one thing that Sa Vida’s regular clients love is their lunch menu, which is served from Monday to Friday and it only costs 16 euros. For this menu, chef Anatoly Gonaroy offers us four choices for a first course, three choices for the main dish, and two choices for a dessert. The menu also includes a drink. They do not serve a lunch menu during July and August since the restaurant opens at 19 hours during those months.

As a wine lover and a professional, Ángel has designed for Sa Vida one of the most complete wine menus in Ibiza, with over 100 references and 30 different designations of origin. Sa Vida offers wine lovers the chance to choose among 20 references by the glass.

The excellent price-quality ratio that this restaurant offers has turned Sa Vida Ibiza into a landmark. It is no wonder that the project has now expanded to the nearby island of Mallorca, where Ángel and Anatoli are working in new ideas. Sa Vida Ibiza is open throughout the entire year thanks to the local customers, who come to the restaurant in search of gastronomic quality, professionalism, and friendly attention.
